PushMe is an alerting service. This page explains what we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

Data We Process

  • Account data: OAuth provider ID (GitHub and/or Google), name, and email (when available).
  • Alert data: the watches you create (the text you type and the derived matching fields).
  • Delivery data: email address you provide for alerts and your delivery preferences.
  • Push data: web push subscription endpoint and keys (used to deliver push notifications).
  • Usage and diagnostics: basic request logs such as IP address, user agent, and timestamps for security and debugging.
  • Feedback: feedback you submit about alerts and general feedback messages.

Why We Process It

  • Provide the service: create watches, match events, and send push or email alerts.
  • Improve relevance and reduce false alarms using aggregated feedback signals.
  • Keep the service secure and reliable through abuse prevention and troubleshooting.

Legal Bases (GDPR)

  • Contract: to provide the alerting service you request.
  • Legitimate interests: to secure and operate the service, and to improve alert quality.
  • Consent: where required by your browser for web push permission or other optional features.

Processors and Transfers

We use third-party providers to run PushMe. Depending on your location, your data may be processed outside the EEA.

  • GitHub OAuth for sign-in.
  • Google OAuth for sign-in.
  • Email delivery provider such as Mailgun when you enable email alerts.
  • Push services operated by browser vendors for web push delivery.
  • LLM provider (OpenAI) to generate watch fields and optionally verify matches.

Cookies and Local Storage

  • pushme_token is an essential cookie used to keep you signed in after OAuth login.
  • Local storage may hold non-sensitive UI state such as drafted alerts or onboarding progress, but the site no longer persists the raw session token there.

Retention

We keep your account and alert data until you delete your account. Server logs are retained for a limited period for security and debugging.

Your Rights

  • Access: export your data from the app.
  • Deletion: delete your account from the app, which removes associated data.
  • Rectification: update your email and alert text in the app.
  • Objection/restriction: disable push or email delivery in Settings.
